About Noise

Noise is UNSW’s only independent student paper, run entirely by and for students. Founded in early 2024, our volunteer team has since produced and published almost 200 articles to shine a light on issues relevant to UNSW students, building towards a more engaged and informed student body.

In contrast to other student publications you may have heard of at UNSW, Noise is fully independent of both Arc and the University. This means we have much more freedom to publish material critical of these bodies and advocate for students’ rights.

We believe that transparency and equity for all students and staff should be the core principle on which the University operates, and aim to provide high-quality, relevant reporting in the interest of UNSW's students.

Noise is always on the lookout for new talent. Joining us is a great way to develop your skills as a writer, build deeper connections within the UNSW community, and speak out on issues that are important to you.
